BRIC CELEBRATE BROOKLYN 2022-2023
Founded in 1979, Celebrate Brooklyn is New York’s longest-running, free outdoor performing arts festival, and takes place each summer in Prospect Park at the Lena Horne Bandshell. They came to Gander—after a 2-year hiatus from live shows—to help breathe new life into their identity system. We were tasked with coming up with a visual system that represented the theme of gathering. Our inspiration: the quilt. The act of making a quilt represents the bringing together of individual elements together to create something new; The use of different colors and textures represents Brooklyn’s diverse range of neighborhoods and cultures; Quilts can be used as a communal gathering place, especially during summer concerts under the stars.
