When I moved to Brooklyn, it was nearly summer, the only season I had really experienced as a Floridian. During my first winter, my bedroom window had a view of a tropical mural down the street. I remember thinking how funny it looked with piles of snow surrounding it. It perfectly represented how I felt, and still feel about New York winters (and NYC in general): like a fish out of water.
